The thing I love about inspiration is that you don’t go in search of it.
It will find you.
You shroud yourself with desires from the past
Layered by misfortunes and block out the desire, but inspiration will inspire.
You want nothing to do with your thoughts
Because overthinking and creating scenarios is what you do best
Yet inspiration inspires.
You sometimes trade the mental rantings of your brain for a calming chemical to soothe the inside,
Begging your brain to stop thinking
Begging your thoughts to stop going
Begging your being to hold you closer and shake you back to reality
But inspiration inspires.
You want peace and solitude above all.
You want to drown out the noise in your head
You wonder about looking for a fix
Then your fixation switches
You feel a vibration and a text comes in
You feel your face forms a smile,
Your heart quickens, your palms get sweaty, and your knees buckle
But the noise.
The noise is gone. And that’s when you realize
Inspiration does inspire.
