Have you ever had one of those moments of realization where you do the same thing that you are questioning someone about?
How is it that you can do the same thing over and over and expect different results?
Einstein called this madness.
This leads me to the realization that we are all a little mad. So what really is sanity?
Do you call continuously knowing fully well that they will not pick up?
Do you show up all the time expecting them to show up for you but they never do?
Do you open yourself to people perpetually with the off chance that they will open up to you?
At what point does the madness stop?
From the pattern of events and the conditions under which I pursue I have come to the realization that I may not be partially mad…but fully.
When you are a giver and an empath you find that people walk in and out of your life because you never want someone to feel the anguish and pain of not being heard;
You never want someone to experience the anticipation and stress from expectation and need for a presence;
You never want someone to feel that panging pain that never dies…
So you open up and let them in.
As long as something is wrong you let them back in because you know what it’s like and you feel the need or responsibility rather to mitigate the blow.
At this point who protects you while you protect everyone else?
Who checks up on you when you are checking in on everyone else?
Who cares for you when you are caring for everyone else?
Pulling people’s pain and understanding their needs is overwhelming.
Zone into your gift and set boundaries.
Sometimes you need to say “fuck it, fuck this, and fuck that. Let it fucking burn.”
Sometimes you need to take drastic measures to draw the line because givers need to know when to stop giving because takers will never stop taking.
Sigh.
So communicate. There is no question about it. The one thing that can solve all problems…
Communication.
